    Hello geekers,
we are using the latest software of Bruker white-light interferrometry, which is vision 64. The raw data can be saved as opdx, opd, asc, xml etc. The problem is that gwyddion v2.47 can not read none of these file formats. is this because of the 64 bit? I really like to using gwyddion to process the raw data. please help. Thanks in advance.

OPDx is only implemented in development snapshots and only for 1D files because we have never met any 2D file -- see https://sourceforge.net/p/gwyddion/discussion/fileformats/thread/6419d9da/.

I can load all OPD, ASC and XML files I have. Yours may be in a somewhat different format, so follow the FAQ. Namely provide the files.

The number of bits does not matter.

The use of term ‘raw data’ makes me suspicious. Do NOT set the file type to Raw data in the file open dialogue unless you actually intend to do this.

Are you sure ss-30h-5x20.OPD cannot be loaded either? The screenshot shows the error for a different file.

    There are two things:

    1. The item ImageModificat~0 featured in the error message is probably of some currently unhandled/incorrectly handled type. So we must fix this. But ss-30h-5x20.OPD does not contain any item ImageModificat~0 (the error is vague but ‘missing’ would not be a problem here). You should at least get a different error message than for cp-30x-5x20-4x4.OPD.

    2. I can load ss-30h-5x20.OPD and it looks OK (testing currently in Linux; may need to re-check in 64bit MS Windows in case it is a rare platform-dependent bug) .

Please also check Info/Programme Messages if any warning appears there when you attempt to open the files.

We tested ss-30h-5x20.OPD in 64bit Gwyddion 2.47 in MS Windows and it also loaded the file fine.

We tried the opd files in other OS, including win7 ultimate 32 and 64, enterprise 64, and ubuntu 17.04. The errors were all the same. pls check the screenshot of ubuntu.

You continue posting errors for different files than you provided.

The file you provided (ss-30h-5x20.OPD) cannot fail to load with error message contaning ImageModificat~0.

    In no operating system.

Therefore, the provided file is of no help.

I cannot do anything unless I have actual files that lead to such error.

Please try to read and understand what I am saying instead of posting more screenshots.

And UPLOAD AT LEAST ONE FILE THAT ACTUALLY CAUSES THE ERROR!

Toatally my fault! "30h-5x20.opd" can indeed be imported successfully. It was obtained by using 5x objective lens and 2.0x eye lens. pls check the ones that can not imported @ https://1drv.ms/u/s!AikJO524GO6Qgs56b5LKJdSTfJVmKA, https://1drv.ms/u/s!AikJO524GO6Qgs57q9qtK7lChofMdw. The 1st one was obtained by using 5x objective lens and 0.55 eye lens. And the other one by using the same lens combination but with the stitching way, ie. continually scanning to get a large area of 4x4 mm.
    many thanks!

Thanks for the files. I fixed the import module -- please check tomorrow's or later development snapshot if it opens your files correctly.

The files contain some strange records that I cannot figure out how to read but this should not affect the import of images, just metadata.
