guvcview version 1.7.1 / LinuxMint 17.2 / webcam HD 525.
When recording I do have sound, but get a black screen instead of a video.
Please see screenshot attached for missing setting options between Camera Output and Filters - all the options like Video File, Video Format and so are not there (see screenshot attached). The video does work with luvcview and skype. I also tried to install your ppa:pj-assis/ppa but get "No JSON object could be decoded". Un- and reinstalled version 1.7.1 and still the same problem.
Hi,
Please upgrade to the latest version (2.0.2), versions lower than
2.0.1 do not work with kernels >= 3.16

Paulo

#23Thanks for the reply Paulo.
Like I mentioned - your ppa does not work, so I'll have to find another way of installing the latest version. EDIT: oops, it DOES. There's a new way to handle ppa's in Mint 17.2, I forgot.

Hi,
Just tried both my ppa's and they are working fine.
testing:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pj-assis/testing
or
stable:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pj-assis/ppa
you may want to take a look at this:

#23Hi Paulo, Yesterday I already edited my last post in the ticket line,
saying it was working after all.
I didn't realize you might not look at that mail in the tickets before
catching the private message here - sorry about that.
Kind regards
Ludo
