You can now use the new tarball with version 0.6.0 (or check out the latest SVN tree). Do a 'make install' after compilation. You will also have to recompile gtkpod now because we have changed the library soname. Then the newly compiled gtkpod will link to the new libgpod automatically. You can check by examining the output of 'ldd gtkpod'. > Although I have write access to the iPod, Amarok complains, that > iTunesDB isn't writeable. No idea -- maybe there are read errors on the iPod file system that prevent it from being mounted as read-write. > And another problem persists: > > # ipod-read-sysinfo-extended /dev/sdc /media/disk > Couldn't resolve Device directory path on /media/disk > > because there is no /media/disk/iPod_Control/Device directory, just > "artwork", "iTunes", "Music". What iPod do you own? You only need to do this for the latest versions (Classic, Nano Video, Touch). The directory is usually created by the iPod itself. If it's not, just create it yourself for the time being. > Now my questions: > Why is there no "Device" directory in iPod_Control? s.a. > What do I need ipod-read-sysinfo-extended for? s.a. > How can I replace the libgpod2_0.5.3-0.4 by the svn version? s.a. > Did I forget sth. I should have done or could have tried? Well see. Good luck, JCS. |
