Hi, As you've already been known, gtkg 0.96 will be released within the year at least. From view point of translator, one of committers, I'd like to ask you, how are strings in gtkg clear as a bell? especially for native English speakers. That's current concerns of mine still I'm not sure. Considering British/Canadian English have their own language codes (en_GB, en_CA), gtkg should have to speak in American English, while my spell checker (aspell with en_US) claimed there're some coined words etc. Also, having check misspelling in the current CVS source tree, although I've been noticing about them when I had begun to translate, there're certain amount of strings (still) I can't understand, in this time, I'd like to make them clear. Now tangible question, are you tolerant of the words/usages below? or do you understand them clearly? Anonymizing "Anonymizing proxies" I think "Anonymous" would be sufficient. Desync "Weird HTTP status (protocol desync?)" Hyphenation? or could it be "async"? Dup "Discovered dup SHA1" <- status "Dup SHA1 during creation" <- status "Minimum amount of dup messages ..." <- tooltip "Minimum ratio of dups ..." <- tooltip "Dup / Bad / Weird" <- ui While I think they're abbreviated from duplicate, they look like "dupe", "dope", especially the last triple words sound like "All / Your / Base", anyway, considering that status strings will be well managed by GtkTree, may I change them? "Discovered duplicate SHA1" "I don't understand what it says" "Minimum amount of duplicate messages ..." "Minimum ratio of duplicate messages ..." Misconfigured "... and can particularly help with badly misconfigured hosts ..." At least I can find "Misconfiguration", hyphenation? OOB-proxied "Query hits received for OOB-proxied queries" I proxy you, okay how about "queries via OOB-proxy"? Regex "If filename matches the regex ..." Even in spelled correctly (regular expressions), some users can never understand it, if you think you're average English speaker, how do you think? Please don't let me define the meaning of average. Requeries Requery Requerying "...If the requery too early... Too frequent requeries are harmful ... yet we must allow some amount of requerying given the dynamic nature of Gnutella connections." "Leaf requery threshold" Requeued "Requeued due to timeout" Those variants of words "Query" and "Queue" had been making me confused, anyway do you think they need get hyphenated? Sendqueue "Maximum size of the sendqueue..." Hyphenation? Shaper "... When running as an ultra node, this bandwidth is stolen from the regular HTTP traffic, if the shaper for leaves is enabled." What does "the shaper for leaves" mean? Likewise, there might be words/sentences you've been wondering, feel free to list them if they're, note that even if you can't understand what gtkg tells, it's hard to get understood by one who's using English as second language.
