you can already do it, here a sample tutorial:

    https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=795668

for the password, just install the "askpass" package, like suggested by debian:

    https://packages.debian.org/sid/grsync

    "rec: ssh-askpass
under X, asks user for a passphrase for ssh-add
also a virtual package provided by ksshaskpass, kwalletcli, lxqt-openssh-askpass, ssh-askpass-fullscreen, ssh-askpass-gnome"

more info on the grsync website:

      ssh-askpass , might work for Gentoo/sabayon
On 2nd hdd, however for Windows... mobaxterm or putty,
For time being, , ssh-askpass for Windows? Not sure an option.

Since I kill laptop drives , been lazy at replacement of Linux volume. Too
kill more spinning rusts or go m.2 ssd I can move to another laptop and a
m.2 adaper is the question.... moving expenses, also has added to killjoy
status.. with gentoo, I should just jump in on a zfs raid server but often
on the go. And laptop drives I burn them out from compile jobs all to
      quickly.

Build host a, hosting host b,

      Remote deb. Arm64. Server.
      Chroot gentoo-arm64/usr/portage/pachages/package-snap.sh... pull down
daily tar of builds gets time consuming especially if only a few new
packages made/ or eclean'ed (nuked by age)
