#85 Mechanism for specifying names of series in a list returned by a function

No

Currently (March 2015) there can be name clashes between the member series of a list returned by function and the existing series in the workfile.
Somehow the function must know which names for the series in the returned list are acceptable. This can be (already) done by passing strings (or astring array) with the names to the function, but it is "a secret workaround". This way of handling returned lists could be made official or even required.

See mailing list messages from Feb 2nd 2015.

I have initiated a new discussion on the devel list about this with relatively concrete suggestions, see http://lists.wfu.edu/pipermail/gretl-devel/2016-March/006642.html.
    thanks,

Hm, unfortunately no reactions on the mailing list, perhaps because of a problem with the link? So I repeat: http://lists.wfu.edu/pipermail/gretl-devel/2016-March/006642.html
    cheers,

OK, I'm closing my own request because I admit the actual request is still a little vague. I'm continuing the discussion on the devel list.
