gretl 1.8.1 and concurrent X-12-ARIMA program.
PC running Windows XP.
I have been using gretl to do seasonal adjustments for the past few weeks without issue. Just now, I tried putting a series through the X-12. If I chose to save the seasonally adjusted data and no graph, a blank series is created. The log window that comes up when running the X-12 showed only the following message:
Reading input spec file from US.spc
If I choose to display a graph, I get the following error message:
"C:\Program Files\gretl\wgnuplot.exe" "C:\Documents and Settings\EPARGIK\Application Data\gretl\gpttmp.c00328": exit code 1
The attached Excel file is the data that I imported into gretl. I added a time-series interpretation upon importing the data (January 2007 - April 2009).
Thanks in advance.

I also just uploaded the gretl file that goes along with it; it has the data uploaded, and I have attempted to run X-12-ARIMA, producing the last variable, which is blank.
Your sample is too small: X12A requires at least 3 full years of data.
I have now made an effort to get an informative error message for this
case in gretl (this can be difficult when dealing with third-party programs).
That's in CVS and will be in the Windows snapshot shortly.
