Thinking back when I first migrated to Gramps, I had many notes attached to people (not places) that said "Unknown Connection" and the family surname. Basically, a tag which that program did not have as a feature. The end result, all these common notes did not automatically merge as duplicates. At the time, I was so new to Gramps that I did not know to expect an automatic merge. This was in 3.4.? Never gave it a second thought until this thread. My places did merge except when I had typos which were numerous.
