Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: deloun (deloun) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Canon powershot s410 not detected Initial Comment: Hi, My canon powershot s410 digital elph isn't recognised and I can't import in gthumb nor f-spot. The model is listed in gthumbs camera list but when i select it manually it still can't connect to the camera. When I do: $ gphoto2 --auto-detect I get: Model Port ---------------------------------------------------------- Canon Digital IXUS 430 (normal mode) usb: While it's a canon powershot s410 digital elph, it seems it detects the camera wrong as an ixus in stead of the elph, maybe this is related to the problem? Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2007-05-15 06:08 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48092 Originator: NO please check if the commandline tool works. (as user, and if it does not, then as root) gphoto2 -L if it works, it is likely a different problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: deloun (deloun) Date: 2007-05-11 19:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1789117 Originator: YES The distro I use is paldo, one of the devs of paldo said to me the problem might be gphoto related, also because the problem affects both f-spot and gthumb. Is there more info I could give which might help you track the problem? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2007-05-11 19:14 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48092 Originator: NO which distro? if gphoto2 -L does work as user, then it likely is a different problem ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: deloun (deloun) Date: 2007-05-10 10:39 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1789117 Originator: YES Ah ok, but I still have the problem that gthumb and f-spot can't connect to the camera to import pictures. They don't autodetect the camera and when I choose it manually from the camera list in gthumb I get an error message: An error occurred in the io-library ('Bad parameters'): Could not find USB device (vendor 0x4a9, product 0x30ba). Make sure this device is connected to the computer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2007-05-09 16:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48092 Originator: NO the USB id is the same for hboth IXUS 430 and PowerShot S410, and they are in fact the same camera. This is a common branding difference between the US and Europe/Japan, so for almost all Canon cameras there are 2 names. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: deloun (deloun) Date: 2007-05-09 14:00 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1789117 Originator: YES And when I ask to list files it works and does mention the correct model while not with --auto-detect: gphoto2 --list-files Detected a 'Canon:PowerShot S410 Digital ELPH (normal mode)'. There are 57 files in folder '/'. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=108874&aid=1715724&group_id=8874 |
