Category: libgphoto2 Group: None >Status: Pending Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Brian Cameron (yippi) Assigned to: Hans Ulrich Niedermann (hun) Summary: add uninstalled pc file for libgphoto Initial Comment: The Solaris GNOME build system builds packages that include multiple modules. The attached patch adds an uninstalled.pc file which allows you to build against libgphoto before it is actually installed. Could this uninstalled.pc file be added upstream? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Hans Ulrich Niedermann (hun) Date: 2007-05-14 18:17 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=59853 Originator: NO I am using Libs: ${pcfiledir}/libgphoto2_port/libgphoto2_port.la -lm Cflags: -I${pcfiledir}/@srcdir@ now. In my tests, ${pc_top_builddir} evaluates to "${top_builddir}" (which is then filled by gphoto2's Makefile with gphoto2's top_builddir instead of libgphoto2' top_builddir) ${pcfiledir} evaluates to "/absolute/path/to/where/libgphoto2/builds", i.e. prepending ${pc_top_builddir} (aka '${top_builddir}') does not make any sense. So your definition includedir=${pc_top_builddir}/${pcfiledir} does not work for me at all. Does that make any sense to you? http://gphoto.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/gphoto/trunk/libgphoto2/libgphoto2-uninstalled.pc.in?view=markup http://gphoto.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/gphoto/trunk/libgphoto2/libgphoto2_port/libgphoto2_port-uninstalled.pc.in?view=markup Could you possibly test current SVN? If you want to, I can build you tarballs of it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Hans Ulrich Niedermann (hun) Date: 2007-05-14 14:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=59853 Originator: NO Fixed in SVN. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Brian Cameron (yippi) Date: 2007-04-24 04:50 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=689771 Originator: YES The ${pc_top_builddir}/${pcfiledir} is standard for uninstalled-pc files. Many modules ship uninstalled-pc files and if you look at them they all look like this. For example, here is the one for GDK in the GTK+ module: http://svn.gnome.org/viewcvs/gtk%2B/trunk/gdk-2.0-uninstalled.pc.in?view=markup ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Hans Ulrich Niedermann (hun) Date: 2007-04-20 16:37 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=59853 Originator: NO That libfoo-uninstalled.pc is a beautiful idea. I'll have a look at how it can be used and then add it. The line "includedir=${pc_top_builddir}/${pcfiledir}" looks a little suspicious to me because I have not been aware of anybody defining pc_top_builddir or pcfiledir variables so far. I had been hardcoding the respective _CFLAGS and _LIBS definitions in the gphoto-suite/configure.ac file until now. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Brian Cameron (yippi) Date: 2007-04-17 07:36 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=689771 Originator: YES Can this go upstream? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2007-01-24 11:35 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48092 Originator: NO -> ndim for buildsystem issues ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=108874&aid=1643245&group_id=8874 |
