Category: libgphoto2 Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Submitted By: Paul Wise: Away from net 3 month (pabs3) Assigned to: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Summary: Kodak LS753 upload error Initial Comment: I got a generic error trying to upload a simple text file to my Kodak LS753. I ran the following as root: echo foo > foobar LANG=C gphoto2 --debug -a &> foo LANG=C gphoto2 --debug -u foobar &> foo2 I've compressed and attached the output of detection of camera abilities and the upload process. The upload facility does work with the Kodak supplied Windows EasyShare software. I will try to supply a usb spy log from uploading on Windows soon. The camera abilities are like so: Abilities for camera : Kodak LS753 Serial port support : no USB support : yes Capture choices : : Capture not supported by the driver Configuration support : yes Delete files on camera support : yes File preview (thumbnail) support : yes File upload support : yes ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2006-09-09 12:50 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48092 my experience regarding upload shows that while cmaeras report "Upload" ability they only use it to implement PictBridge direct printing. so I think the camera does not support it and we just report it badly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Paul Wise: Away from net 3 month (pabs3) Date: 2005-12-29 10:46 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=35028 I tried uploading to the cam when it wasn't empty, but it didn't work. I've attached an upload attempt to upload foo to the camera: echo foo > foobar LANG=C gphoto2 --debug -u foobar &> kodak-ls753-upload-error-nonempty.txt This was when there was about 5 photos on the internal memory and no memory card inserted. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2005-12-29 10:02 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48092 ah, i see. our upload code does not handle completely empty upload storages. I will have to fix this :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Paul Wise: Away from net 3 month (pabs3) Date: 2005-12-29 04:13 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=35028 gphoto -L works fine, with and without files on the camera. I've attached a listing from gphoto2 --debug -L if that will help (from when the camera was empty). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2005-12-28 16:35 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48092 The usb snooplog calls getnumobjects which returns 0. We call getobjecthandles which returns a 0 array, for some reason we get an error then. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2005-12-28 15:42 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=48092 does gphoto2 -L work? it fails already in the regular routines. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Paul Wise: Away from net 3 month (pabs3) Date: 2005-12-23 06:05 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=35028 Using SnoopyPro: http://sourceforge.net/projects/usbsnoop I captured the attached log of uploading a file named 'foo' containing the bytes 'bar' to the internal memory card and the 256Mb memory card. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=108874&aid=1387745&group_id=8874 |
