Bugs item #989072, was opened at 2004-07-11 21:40 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by barrywardell You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=108874&aid=989072&group_id=8874 Category: None Group: None Status: Closed Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Submitted By: Barry Wardell (barrywardell) Assigned to: Mariusz Woloszyn (kil3r) Summary: Kodak cx6230 and linux Initial Comment: gphoto is not working with my Kodak cx6230 on linux. I can run it once eg. to get a directory listing (or even download all the images), but the next time i try to run it , it fails with an error: gp_port_read: Connection timed out I then have to disconnect and reconnect the camera to get it to work again. I have read about a bug in the *BSD version of libusb which seemed related to this, but from what I understand, that bug purely affects the *BSD port, not the linux version. I am using Gentoo linux, kernel 2.6.7, gphoto 2.1.4 and libusb 0.1.8 (all from Gentoo packages) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Barry Wardell (barrywardell) Date: 2004-07-19 15:31 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=460830 What effect does the new feature have? Does that mean that I shouldn't set up a new tracker? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Hubert Figuiere (hfiguiere) Date: 2004-07-19 14:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=27487 The multiple detection is a new feature. It is not a bug... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mariusz Woloszyn (kil3r) Date: 2004-07-17 18:04 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=173521 So the bug is fixed now. Regarding the multiple detection problem, please open a new bug tracker. closing ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Barry Wardell (barrywardell) Date: 2004-07-17 17:48 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=460830 Just tried the CVS version of both gphoto2 and libgphoto2, and it seems to have fixed my problem. Everything seems to work perfectly now. Thanks for the help. Interestingly, auto-detect now reports two devices: Model Port ---------------------------------------------------------- Kodak CX6230 usb: Kodak CX6230 usb:002,002 Before, it was only reporting one device: Model Port ---------------------------------------------------------- Kodak CX6230 usb: Does it matter that this is happening? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mariusz Woloszyn (kil3r) Date: 2004-07-17 08:11 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=173521 Try CVS libgphoto2, and make sure you use the new version. Yesterday I commited a patch that is solving the unpredicted state bug. If it's not a USB subsystem issue it should already be fixed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Hubert Figuiere (hfiguiere) Date: 2004-07-17 01:17 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=27487 looks like a kernel/USB bug to me. reassing to PTP maintainer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Barry Wardell (barrywardell) Date: 2004-07-11 21:51 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=460830 In case it's useful, here is the output from dmesg: usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using address 10 usb 2-2: bulk timeout on ep3in usb 2-2: usbfs: USBDEVFS_BULK failed ep 0x83 len 512 ret -110 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=108874&aid=989072&group_id=8874 |
