Westin (swestin) Summary: capture fails with Canon Ixus V3 Initial Comment: I'm experiencing the exact same problem as described in bug #825636: When capturing a image, the lens extends. The camera then powers itself off. Transfering images from the camera works fine. Attached is the output of gphoto2 --debug --capture-image. The syslog shows the following messages: Dec 8 20:40:04 fatboy kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.0-1, assigned address 9 Dec 8 20:40:04 fatboy kernel: usb.c: USB device 9 (vend/prod 0x4a9/0x3070) is not claimed by any active driver. Attached a log showing the same problem using a Ixus V. I will atach the log for the Ixus V3 later (don't have the v3 handy at the moment...). syslog entries look like this hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.0-1.3, assigned address 5 usb.c: USB device 5 (vend/prod 0x4a9/0x3052) is not claimed by any active driver. usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 3, frame# 806 usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_BULK failed dev 5 ep 0x81 len 64 ret -84 usb.c: USB disconnect on device 00:1d.0-1.3 address 5 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Stephen H. Westin (swestin) Date: 2003-12-10 15:15 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=682763 Please run gphoto2 as the root user and append the "--debug" flag to your command line. Then, attach the output this this bug ticket. Ex: gphoto2 --camera "my camera" --port "my port" -L --debug Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Stephen H. Westin (swestin) Date: 2003-12-10 15:15 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=682763 I find this mystifying. The log indicates that gphoto2 never contacted the camera; how could it extend the lens? Are you sure that the --debug log corresponds to the error? It would be helpful to have two more --debug logs: one for a successful operation, and one for the exact failure. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=108874&aid=856427&group_id=8874 |
