Sigh, I'm always unlucky with hardware support. DC210
and DC220 are supported, but not DC215...

Any technical reason, or do you need a tester?

I tried with DC210 and DC220, but my camera uses the
serial port, which it couldn't find.

I had attached the output you requested, but never mind, it
was a permission problem as marcusmeissner guessed.

If I requested to use gphoto2 as mentionned in my first
post, this is because I expected to have the message that
gphoto2 provide, which are harder to get with gtkam.

The DC-210 driver has actually been tested with a DC-215 (I
didn't write it).

do you have sufficient permissions on /dev/ttyS0 to open/write it as user? 
 
can you try gphoto2 commandline as root?

If I in Gtkam uses
  Model: Kodak DC210
  Port: Generic Port (serial:/dev/ttyS0)
I get an error: "Could not initialize camera."
The camera is turned on and in "Connect"-mode.

Why do you say "could not find".

DC215 being serial only, auto-detect will no work.
DC210 driver should work for DC215.
DC220 certainly NOT.

Can you try 
gphoto2 --debug -L --camera="Kodak DC210"
--port=serial:/dev/ttyS0 

and attach the output to this bug ?
