Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Wont Fix Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: https://me.yahoo.com/a/4cY..tkB () Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Sakar Camera (Dig Concepts # 66379) Not Accessible Initial Comment: Hello! I am using Puppy Linux (a variant of Puppy 4.2.0 called TurboPup) and the package I am using is gphoto2-2.4.2.pet. If you tell me how to give you more detailed version info, I will be glad to do so. I have a Digital Concepts Keychain Camera #66379, identified by gphoto2 as a "Sakar Keychain Camera 11119". I enter the gphoto2 shell with "gphoto2 --shell", and upon entering any command, the program returns an error -60, proclaiming that the camera is "in use" by another application (which is incorrect) and that gphoto2 could not "lock" the camera. How can this be fixed? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: https://me.yahoo.com/a/4cY..tkB () Date: 2011-11-29 19:06 Message: Seems to me that ya'll consider this "fixed" simply because it works in GNOME. I hope someday you see that this is not the end-all be-all of desktop environments... and that there are many other valid ones out there that are just as good... and that people may not even *want* GNOME on their systems. I suspect that this will be a long time away. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: https://me.yahoo.com/a/4cY..tkB () Date: 2011-11-07 18:26 Message: Puppy Linux traditionally uses JWM on top of a desktop manager... I don't recall which one, sorry. Those of us who use Puppy find GNOME to be extraordinarily bloated at best, especially with respect to older hardware. For reference, I am booting TurboPup from CD (live session) on a Dell Latitude CPi with a 300MHz CPU and 64MB RAM. The entire process takes somewhere between 1min 15sec and 1min 30sec. Later tonight I will be installing TurboPup more permanently via CF Card "HDD", and will then be able to boot without having a fresh install each time. Easier for both of us that way, because then nothing gets reset at shutdown. Here is a link to the TurboPup thread on the Puppy forums --> http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=40477 (From there you will be able to find more information). I will be glad to work with you to help me get this fixed... that said, compiling on Puppy (make, etc.) requires an extra set of files that are specific to each version of Puppy (they are usually left out out of convenience -- one rarely needs such things in Puppy, and it saves tremendous space)... unfortunately, this set of files is not available for TurboPup. I may be able to find another version that *may* work, but I have my doubts... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2011-11-06 13:44 Message: well, does puppy linux run GNOME and gvfs? then it does acces the camera. ps auxw|grep gphoto ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=108874&aid=3433762&group_id=8874 |
