Thanks Simon - much appreciated. I'm not unduly worried about consistency, the nice thing about using gphoto2 would be we'll see the results every photo taken, unlike my experiments with CHDK (http://www.vimeo.com/17556168) where you just have to hope it's all working. What piece of kit are you using?
