Category: gphoto2 Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: John Coppens (jcoppens) Assigned to: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Summary: Nikon 4600 hangs and --capture-image-and-download fails Initial Comment: Hello people... When executing: gphoto2 --camera="Nikon Coolpix 4600a (PTP mode)" --capture-image The photo gets taken, saved on the card, but gphoto doesn't exit. Ctl-C gives the following: Cancelling... *** Error *** No event received, error 2ff. ERROR: Could not capture. *** Error (-1: 'Unspecified error') *** For debugging messages, please use the --debug option. Debugging messages may help finding a solution to your problem. If you intend to send any error or debug messages to the gphoto developer mailing list <gph...@li...>, please run gphoto2 as follows: env LANG=C gphoto2 --debug --debug-logfile=my-logfile.txt "--camera=Nikon Coolpix 4600a (PTP mode)" --capture-image ------------(Note that I suspect the quoting is actually wrong with the --camera option. It should be --camera="Nikon Coolpix 4600a (PTP mode)" Anyway, I attached the debug output - no evident problems. Then, --get-all-files works fine, but --capture-image-and-download doesn't. It generates the following: *** Error *** You have to set the port prior to initialization of the camera. *** Error *** An error occurred in the io-library ('Unknown port'): No error description available ERROR: Could not capture. *** Error (-5: 'Unknown port') *** With exactly the same options as the --capture-image Thanks for all the good work - it's really appreciated! John ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: John Coppens (jcoppens) Date: 2009-01-10 21:41 Message: I first ran gphoto2 --debug --debug-logfile=xx.log --capture-image but that log file was huge. It seems gphoto is re-detecting the camera many times. I added --camera= and things were a little better. Log file attached. File Added: xx1.log.gz ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2009-01-10 19:42 Message: hmm, the logfile is not good. gphoto2 --debug --debug-logfile=xx.log --capture-image ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marcus Meissner (marcusmeissner) Date: 2009-01-10 19:20 Message: --abilities is a static information blob, PTP has dynamic, runtime detected capabilities. --capture-image-and-download only works when the --cpature-imagfe would know the filename to download :/ Let me check the logfile... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: John Coppens (jcoppens) Date: 2009-01-10 17:56 Message: Strange. --abilities says (sorry, hadn't seen this option before): Capture choices: Capture not supported by the driver (but --capture-image does take the image. It doesn't hang as stated before, but times out after 30") Can I help in any way to get this running? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=108874&aid=2498038&group_id=8874 |
