Orion Starshoot Deep Space Imager I (A newer astro cam than this is called
II, but that is not requested here)

This is a Astronomy cam, used to put on a teleskope.
Working through USB.

Please make gphoto support this cam.

this documentation does not provide anything to us. It is usefull only to
those willing to use the chipset in their product and/or write the firmware
for it.

actually the information we need is what the firmware does protocol-wise
to communicate with the host PC.

I have now found that the cam is using a Cypress EZ-Usb FX2 driver... and
they are having some dokumentation:

But i think i will try again to get some documentation.

most camera support have been done by reverse engineering because somebody
had the camera and did it. and actually this 500 camera list reduce to a
dozen of different drivers.

nobody has the camera here, so nobody can do anything. if you can get the
vendor to provide at least documentation, something could be done. donating
a camera to a developer could help too.

I can't understand why nobody knows what to do. Because gphoto supports
over 400-500 cams... 
how did you support all that, when you don't know how to support mine.
What should i provide in order for you to make the support?

The cam dont store pictures, they are instantly downloaded to the pc.

I have written to orion but they how no doc, for people like us:-(
But i have sniffed the usb traffic perhaps you can use that.

Is that for any use...
I am not hole sure, but i think the file was sniffed, when i plugin the
device in windows, an then i toke a picture with my software.
Hope you can use it.

What does lsusb does... ?
I am a software developer in .net, but know nothing about writing driver
software for linux.
I am in my first year on linux... i goes very well.

I really hope you can make gphoto support Orion Starshoot Deep Space
Imager.
Just write if I have to do something...
