Exactly. And that is behaviour which long-time users may well be relying on, so it should be preserved, at least as a default. Looks like we need another extention to the 'set clip' control: set clip text or, equivalently, a "clip" option to 'set label' that explicitly request the label to not be output if the reference point is out of bounds. -- Hans-Bernhard Broeker (br...@ph...)
