This is one of the pedantic ISO/ANSI C limits that pretty much every compiler on the planet seems to overcome easily. I.e. they seem to have been a bit more cautious in selecting that number than they strictly had to. In other words: there are *lots* of serious warnings we should tackle first before worrying about these. -pedantic mode is the least of our worries, as long as a simple gcc drowns us in hundreds of -Wsign-compare warnings. -- Hans-Bernhard Broeker (br...@ph...)
