If it works on the output from the "test" command, and also on
the demo file "textrotation.dem" then I think it is probably fine.

The main reason is reluctance to change code that I don't know how
to test.  I added text rotation to many terminal types about a year ago,
but I didn't know then (and still don't!) how to use or test metapost out=
put.

If you are willing to contribute your metapost expertise towards
improving the gnuplot metapost driver, then everybody wins.

Out of curiosity, have you run "load all.dem" in metapost to
find out how many of the newer gnuplot features actually work
for this terminal type?  How does PM3D output look?
