<tab> key doesn't work in gnuplot command line

Dear developers.
I have always used gnuplot for scientific purposes. Recently I have installed
gnuplot 4.0. I often use commands plot "very_long_filename.dat", but in 4.0
<tab> key doesn't automatically insert file name, but in previous versions it
worked. Missing of this feature stops me from upgrading gnuplot on all computers
in our Institute Network. Please let me know about current state of this feature.
