One of the reasons I like this idea I forgot to mention in the previous discussion: my program gretl offers a GUI for configuring gnuplot graphs, and for this to work the plot command file must be fairly readily parseable. This data-block setup makes it easier and more efficient to parse the data to be plotted out of such a file, as compared with chasing down a bunch of e-terminated "stdin" blocks. Allin Cottrell |
