[Gnuplot-info] scale y axis to smooth curve

Hi,

I plot data using the smooth csplines type curve and the y axis does not scale down to the resulted curve, but shows a maximum value of the input data that would anyway be seen when using the normal straight lines for plotting.

Could anyone kindly tell me if it is possible to scale down the y axis to the drawn smooth curve?

2 examples (first with normal lines, second drawn with smooth curves):

Have you tried using a logarithmic scale?

you may write the smoothed data points into a table
(see "set table") and use this file for plotting:

set table "table_filename"
plot "your_data_file" ...
unset table
plot "table_filename" using 1:2 ...
