Hello,
Here is a datafile I am trying to plot:
############ delme.lout ##############
1
8
1
2
3
4
########### delme.lout ##############
The first two lines gives the x-range, here it is 1:8
The remaining lines give the data to be plotted. I extract those lines
using the command:
$> tail -n +3 delme.lout
1
2
3
4
So, the above command gives the data at the output. So far so good.
Keeping this in mind, here are the commands I use in gnuplot to plot
this data (the x-range is made up from the top two lines):
gnuplot> set style line 1 lt 1 lw 1 pt 5 ps 1.5
gnuplot> plot ["`head -n 1 delme.lout`":"`more +2 \
delme.lout | head -n 1`"] \
"< tail -n +3 delme.lout" using 1 title 'Data Points' ls 1
The problem is, it appears that I am missing the first data point in the
plot. What am I doing wrong?
thanks,
->HS
