Hi,

I've made some progress on my own question, but in the cairolatex 
terminal. I have been able to specify dashtypes for successive lines in 
the following manner:

dt (16,4)
dt (16,4,4,4)
dt (16,4,4,4,4,4)

These dashtypes do not produce as much white space as the defaults. With 
this finding, I have two questions:

1. Are there known bugs/lack of features with the epslatex terminal 
(with dashtypes specifically)?

2. Is there any documentation for the cairolatex terminal?
