I am a beginner in gnuplot and trying to plot a line chart with yerrorbars.
The below syntax works fine,
*plot \*
*"file.dat" using 1:2 ti "Line1" with linespoints pt 1 lt 1 ps 1.2, \*
*"file.dat" using 1:2:3 ti "" with yerrorbars lt rgb "red" pt 6 ps 0.2*
But the problem I have is the data and yerror information resides in two
different files. Tried doing the below,
*plot \*
*"file_data.dat" using 1:2 ti "Line1" with linespoints pt 1 lt 1 ps 1.2, \*
*"file_yerror.dat" using 1:2 ti "" with yerrorbars lt rgb "red" pt 6 ps 0.2*
but it is not correct and returning,
*"test.pg", line 21: Not enough columns for this style*
*
*
This is because 1:2 from file_yerror.dat though it can retrieve the yerror
value, it has no information where to place this on the plot (i.e at 1:2
from file_data.dat).
Is there any way data and yerror information residing in two different
files be olotted at the same chart?
