Hi, I have a question about the 'random demo
script.'<http://gnuplot.sourceforge.net/demo/random.html>
Is a random number generator required to generate any of the listed images?

gunplot explains its implementation of random numbers in 'help
random'. As far as I know, nothing external in needed. The function
call is rand().

I'm sorry, that's not what I meant. I wanted to know if I can use only
numbers (=already generated values, not generated with gnuplot) to perform
any of the tests listed at 'random demo

if you have the values -- I assume they are in a file -- why not just
plot them? See 'help plot datafile', which also includes help for
inline data.

I'm sorry this probably sounds stupid, but could someone please tell me how
I can start gnuplot? :/
I downloaded the 'gnuplot-4.6.3.tar' file off sourceforge, and unzipped it,
but what do I select in the folder? I don't see any .exe file...

That's because there is none in that archive.  And the reason for that 
is that you picked the wrong (for your needs) file from the download 
site.   You want the Windows binary installer, gp463-win32-setup.exe.

Thank you, I successfully got it to install.
Now I looked at 'help plot datafile' in the help menu, but I can't figure
out how to go about plotting... is there like a tutorial somewhere for
complete beginners to coding?
