[Gnuplot-info] Octave-gnuplot interaction question. Octave meshc function.

I'm trying to fix a problem where octave's meshc function plots a mesh with a 
shifted colormap.  Here is the thread.

Essentially, we need to determine if octave is being interpreted as gnuplot 
intends it to be.

The z values for the contour lines are lower than for the mesh, and the 
colormap that is specified does not discount the lines, therefore the mesh 
only uses a shifted portion of the colormap.

It is likely that it can be worked around in octave, however jwe only wants to 
do this if gnuplot is functioning as is designed.  Can somebody who knows 
please verify that this is designed behavior and therefore not likely to 
change?

How can we even begin to discuss that without having seen the actual 
commands and data sent to gnuplot?

We need the actual input to gnuplot (reduced to a minimal example, if 
possible), and a description of the expected output free from octave jargon.

OK, thanks for the response.  I didn't pose the question well, partly
because I'm not really familiar with the gnuplot jargon.

What I've since found is that the palette can be adjusted to a certain
range of the plot, via set cbrange.  That is what I needed to know (and
the jargon I didn't know).
