[Gnuplot-info] Redirection of Output of Show Command

Is there anyway that the output of a show command (such as "show palette =
colornames") can be redirected to a file or printer--for handy future =
reference?

If I get you right, the solution to your problem is the 
command save, see "help save" for more details. 
The resulting files may be re"load"ed, so that your disired 
set of options can be restored in a later run of gnuplot.

For reference, I think you should be looking at "save", not "show".

As far as "show palette" output is concerned, you can always copy-paste 
from the console into a file, too.
