[Gnuplot-info] Bring text to front of plot

I am trying to annotate a plot (colored postscript output) by writing
annotations (set label command) over the plotted data (text is black,
data is red). Is there anyway to make gnuplot do this?

RTFM please.  See 'help label', and pay special attention to {front|back}.
