I'm not entirely sure where to look here. This may be a bug or a
configuration issue. This is with gnuplot 4.0 patchlevel 0 on Gentoo Linux.
I'm trying to plot some graphs with GNU plot to a graphic file. For both
'png' and 'jpeg' terminal type, the plot comes out incorrect. When I use
the x11 terminal, things look fine.
The background is black. The text does not appear (I imagine that it is
black as well so it's just not visible).
Here's a sample data and command.
--- values.txt
1 233 233.00 180 233.00
2 235 234.05 180
3 231 232.93 180
4 230 232.08 180
5 229 231.32 180 231.32
---
--- gnuplot.cmds
set terminal jpeg medium size 800x600
set yrange [170:*]
set bars 0.0
plot 'values.txt' using 1:3 with lines notitle, '' using 1:2 notitle, ''
using 1:2:2:3:3 with candlesticks notitle, '' using 1:4 with lines
notitle, '' using 1:5 with lines title 'Trend: -2.3 / week'

You can see a sample of this output at

Even the basic 'test' doesn't work right:
--- gnuplot.cmds
set terminal jpeg medium size 800x600
test

Is it a library problem? And I doing something incorrect? Have I found a
bug? I'm not quite sure, so comments and suggestions are more than welcome.
Thanks
Jason
