gnuplot-info

[Gnuplot-info] help here?

I downloaded gnuplot 4.1 from the repository, but as soon as I run
./prepare I get

mv Makefile.amt Makefile.am
automake: configure.in: required file `../config.guess' not found
automake: configure.in: required file `../config.sub' not found

Some part of the preparation process failed.

Is that a problem of my machine or a bug?

please try:
cd gnuplot-4.1.0 /* or whatever is it's name! */
touch  configure.in
rm -f config.status config.log config.cache aclocal.m4
=2E/prepare
aclocal -I m4
autoconf
=2E/configure <your options>

If you're running SuSE and want a src.rpm for your convenience, just let me=
=20
know, I could send you via email (~2 MByte)

if you really want to see the pictures above - use some font
with constant spacing like courier! :-)

This is a telltale symptom of having too old autoconf/automake.  You'll 
want to have the latest you can get: automake 1.9.6 and autoconf 2.59, 
or higher.
