[Gnuplot-info] help gnuplot

I have a file with 3 columns - x,y,z. How can I specify the  color/style
of the point at x,y based on the value of z?

I have the version 4.0 of gnuplot for Windows (gp400win32). I can draw =

graphs with the same format using a loop but these graphs are stored in
different postscript files. The question is how I can store many graphs =

Hi Almudena,

The folowing sequence of commands

gnuplot> set output "myfile.ps"
gnuplot> plot x**2
gnuplot> set output "myfile.ps"
gnuplot> plot x**3

will generate a file named myfile.ps with the plot of the function
x**3. However,

gnuplot> set output "myfile.ps"
gnuplot> plot x**2
gnuplot> plot x**3

generates a file named myfile.ps with 2 pages, the 1st page has the
plot of x**2, and the 2nd one has the plot of x**3.
This works on gnuplot 4.1. I'm not sure on gnuplot 4.0, but give it a try.

Hola Almundena,
I think "replot" might be your friend; say:

plot x*x w l lw 2
replot x**3 w l lw 2

will plot both a quadratic and a cubic function into one plot.

Just do it.  As long as you keep the terminal open (no 'set terminal',
no 'set output' between plots), it'll just work.

Dear Daniele,
this will not work without an extra script. Gnuplot cannot do this for you=
=20
AFAIK. Use awk, pearl, whatever to generate an appropriate format.
