[Gnuplot-info] Gnuplot 2d density colours

Hi, I new to gnuplot and have managed to plot my 2d data set on a scatter
graph but as there is so much data that the density relationship between the
two variables is lost into one big blob of colour....is there anyway of
creating a density colour ramp in order to show the density of plots within
my data? i;ve looked all over the internet and not had much luck. if anyone
is familar with ENVI i want to try and achieve the same affect as the 2d
density slice on that?..any help would be really appreciated

It isn't quite clear what you want but you might be looking for the
command splot. Try 'help splot' and have a look through the demos.
