Hi All, This histogram http://old.nabble.com/file/p30953313/hist1.jpg hist1.jpg was created by, clear set style fill solid 1.0 border -1 set style fill transparent solid 0.50 noborder binwidth=0.01 bin(x,width)=width*floor(x/width) + binwidth/2.0 plot 'case769.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2c' smooth freq w boxes,\ 'case001.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2f0' smooth freq w boxes,\ 'case481.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2f1' smooth freq w boxes,\ 'case577.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2f2' smooth freq w boxes,\ 'case673.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2f3' smooth freq w boxes But I intend to divide the y-axis range by 1500000 to give y-axis look like this http://old.nabble.com/file/p30953313/hist2.jpg hist2.jpg . Could anybody suggest how to do it? Many thanks in advance for your answer. -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/How-to-modify-y-axis-of-histogram-generated-by-gnuplot-built-in-function--tp30953313p30953313.html Sent from the Gnuplot - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Does it work to do something as simple as: ... using (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0/1500000) ... > This histogram http://old.nabble.com/file/p30953313/hist1.jpg hist1.jpg > was created by, > > clear > set style fill solid 1.0 border -1 > set style fill transparent solid 0.50 noborder > binwidth=0.01 > bin(x,width)=width*floor(x/width) + binwidth/2.0 > plot 'case769.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2c' smooth freq w boxes,\ > 'case001.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2f0' smooth freq w boxes,\ > 'case481.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2f1' smooth freq w boxes,\ > 'case577.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2f2' smooth freq w boxes,\ > 'case673.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2f3' smooth freq w boxes > > But I intend to divide the y-axis range by 1500000 to give y-axis look like > this http://old.nabble.com/file/p30953313/hist2.jpg hist2.jpg . > Could anybody suggest how to do it? Thanks Tait, I tried that but it did not work and hence the post. @Tait, Ok I see the mistake. I used 1/1500000 instead of 1.0/1500000. Having said that I surely did not understand the syntax. Why did it differ? Is that sort of truncation error related to integer/real number? Many thanks for the clarification! pban92 wrote: > > > Thanks Tait, I tried that but it did not work and hence the post. > > > Tait-2 wrote: >> >> >> Does it work to do something as simple as: >> ... using (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0/1500000) ... >> >> >>> This histogram http://old.nabble.com/file/p30953313/hist1.jpg hist1.jpg >>> was created by, >>> >>> clear >>> set style fill solid 1.0 border -1 >>> set style fill transparent solid 0.50 noborder >>> binwidth=0.01 >>> bin(x,width)=width*floor(x/width) + binwidth/2.0 >>> plot 'case769.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2c' smooth freq w >>> boxes,\ >>> 'case001.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2f0' smooth freq w boxes,\ >>> 'case481.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2f1' smooth freq w boxes,\ >>> 'case577.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2f2' smooth freq w boxes,\ >>> 'case673.nvd' u (bin($1,binwidth)):(1.0) t 's2f3' smooth freq w boxes >>> >>> But I intend to divide the y-axis range by 1500000 to give y-axis look >>> like >>> this http://old.nabble.com/file/p30953313/hist2.jpg hist2.jpg . >>> Could anybody suggest how to do it? OK I worked it out and the syntax is clear. The mistake was not as I thought but something else. Many thanks for your whole lot of helps. :) pban92 wrote: > > @Tait, > > Ok I see the mistake.
