[Gnuplot-info] Plot File.dat, not all the content

Hello,
i want to plot some vectors from a file (i already figured out how to do
that) :)
My problem is: i only want to plot the first xxx lines (lets say 500). Is
there a gnuplot command, that makes you select the lines you want to plot?
(like using 1:3:4 for the columns)

use the ternary operator:

using ($0>500?0/0:$1):3:4

Thank you, works perfect, even if i dont quite understand the command.
How can i modify it to select line 500-1000?

using ($0>500 && $0<1000 ? 0/0 : $1):3:4

have a look at the section 'ternary operator' in the manual.
