[Gnuplot-info] fitting tangent to plot

Hi, I'm very new in gnuplot, how i can fit function tan(x) to this points?

You can't, because tan(x) has no adjustable parameters.

And you can't because that data doesn't have the shape of a (rescaled 
and shifted) tangent curve at all.

Hi,
The picture which I was inserted was did in gnuplot 3.7 by someone. But i
have only his plot to old report, I don't know this person.

... and it also has completely different data points.  Just because 
somebody managed to fit a tangent curve to one dataset doesn't mean you 
can fit one to whichever dataset you find.  It doesn't even necessarily 
mean that the fit this person did is meaningful --- at 4 parameters from 
10 data points, and quite visible deviation, it just as well could be a 
fluke.
