I'm actually using 'refresh' instead of 'replot' since 'replot' does not
work with data sent over the pipe. The main issue here is that I'm trying
to avoid disk access as I'm a plotting several continuous streams of data
from a custom-built microscope. I guess I'll just have to buckle down and
hold onto the plot commands in my application and then resend them if the
user changes the plot settings between updates.
