Hi 
 
I was wondering if it is possible to do the following with gnuplot. 
I have a file with 3 columns in it. I would like to plot the first two as a map (i.e. x,y) and would then like to annotate these points with the value in the third column.

As of version 4.2, I think it is.  'with labels' should be capable of 
reading numbers just as easily as the strings it's needed for.
