[Gnuplot-info] ormat must have 1-7 conversions of type double (%lf)

Hello,

When I do:
 plot "scan_random5_4_2019_024.txt" u ($1):($7):($2) '%lf %lf %lf %lf %lf %lf %lf'
the plot is OK
when I do:
plot "scan_random5_4_2019_024.txt" u ($1):($7):($2):($8) '%lf %lf %lf %lf %lf %lf %lf %lf'
I get:
format must have 1-7 conversions of type double (%lf)

The error seems due to the number of columns (here 8) that I have in my file
They are separate by a \t

How can I avoid this error ?

If the fields are separated by tabs you don't need to provide a format.

    set datafile separator tab
    plot "scan_random5_4_2019_024.txt" u 1:7:2:8

In fact if the fields do not contain embedded space characters you don't even 
need the "set datafile separator" command.
