[Gnuplot-info] How to get rid of the polar axis

Hi all,
         I would like to remove the polar axis(that bold horizontal 
line), but do not know how to do it.  I recently update the version from 
4.4 to 4.6, it seems the polar axis is a new feature. Do I need to fall 
back to earlier version?
         I am sorry for the naive question, I am new to gnuplot. Thank you !
