[Gnuplot-info] 2d plot with events

Hello,
i want to plot the following problem:
imagine a table with its contents


Time     Wheather
-------------------
1          sunny
2          cloudy
3          rainy
4          rainy
5          cloudy
.
.
.

How can i set the y-achses from numerical values to events?
I only know the expression " set xtics". 
For example set xtics("sunny" 1, "cloudy" 2, "rainy" 3)
Is there an alternative??

Just in case that wasn't obvious: the same can be done with 'set ytics', 
too.

But you'll probably want the yticlabels() argument to 'using'.  See 
"help using".

for sure, it should  be set ytics, not xtics.
I've read about yticlabels, but i don't know how to apply to my problem.=20
