[Gnuplot-info] Problem with GNUPlot

Dear sir or madam,
I have gnuplot installed in two computers, one with a SUSE linux
distribution, and one with Kubuntu. The one in Suse works fine, but the one
with Kubuntu does not react normally to the keys HOME (writes an H), END
(writes an F) and DEL (writes a 3~). Furthermore, Tab key, which normally
should end the name of a file, does not either (it does in the other
distribution). Could you please help me solve these problems (I mostly need
the first three keys, Tab is not that important). Thanks a lot.

did you compile the gnuplot executables by yourself, or
did you install the precompiled programs coming with the
distribution?

which version of gnuplot is installed on which machine?

the one on the suse system is using gnu readline, the other
one is using the builtin minimal readline.

./configure --with-readline=gnu
in the gnuplot source directory, followed by 'make' and 'make install'.
