[Gnuplot-info] secondary axis related to primary axis

Hello,

is it possible to scale the secondary related to the primary x/y-axis? 

I want my autoscaled plots to show one scale on the primary y-Axis and a
related scale (in my case a proportional relation) on the secondary
y-Axis.

An example to make it clear: on the primary axis should be "Pressure in
bar" and on the second axis "Pressure in psi".
(and I am not even asking about °C and °F)
 
If this is not possible, is it, instead, possible to read the autoscale
information back to a user-defined variable so I can do the whole thing
"manually"? Is there maybe another workaround?

Not directly.  See the open feature request about coupled axes that 
addresses this.

As long as the ratio is proportional, it can be done by re-plotting the 
data to the y2 axis with the modified scale, and turning on 'autoscale 
fix' for both y axes.

This will be possible in the upcoming release 4.2.
