I am not sure if you understand my question. Suppose I am in the postscript terminal, how can plot that like both solid red line and dashed red line? Hi! Han's answer is related with the fact that the answer to your question is strongly terminal dependent, i.e., it is not the same for the x11 terminal as for the postscript terminal. Following your example: gnuplot> set term postscript color gnuplot> set output "mytest1.ps" gnuplot> plot x**2 lt 2 lc 1 #it will print a dashed red curve gnuplot> set output "mytest2.ps" gnuplot> plot x**2 lt 1 lc 1 #it will print a solid red curve For further information, take a look at this useful command: gnuplot> help test and follow the instructions given there to see your terminal capabilities. Thanks a lot. The line color works for Gnuplot 4.2 while I am still using Gnuplot 3.7. I guess I really need to upgrade. Thank you once again for the heads-up. xiao Hern=C3=A1n Gonzalo Asorey-3 wrote: >=20 > Hi! >=20 > Han's answer is related with the fact that the answer to your question > is strongly terminal dependent, i.e., it is not the same for the x11 > terminal as for the postscript terminal. > Following your example: >=20 > gnuplot> set term postscript color > gnuplot> set output "mytest1.ps" > gnuplot> plot x**2 lt 2 lc 1 #it will print a dashed red curve > gnuplot> set output "mytest2.ps" > gnuplot> plot x**2 lt 1 lc 1 #it will print a solid red curve >=20 > For further information, take a look at this useful command: >=20 > gnuplot> help test >=20 > and follow the instructions given there to see your terminal capabilities= . > Bye! >=20 > Hern=C3=A1n >=20 >=20 > On 6/14/07, xiaomimi <xia...@ho...> wrote: >> >> I am not sure if you understand my question.
