hi,

i'm using gnuplot 4.0 student version. i'm having a problem in that it doesn't like to copy rectangle to clipboard. it copies ok but will not paste it unless i first copy all to clipboard, paste that, then copy rectangle to clipboard and paste it over what is already there.

i have used gnuplot extensively for two years and have not changed anything else in my setup except for getting a new version of gnuplot (for this year). it never acted like this before.

Hi,
I'm using gnuplot  4.2 on Windows XP SP2. 
When I try to plot two graph from two data files 
(e. g. data1.dat and data2.dat), I select or type the first file, 
then I try to select the second one using OPEN button 
and then the gnuplot program quits without any error 
message.
On the other side when I type the command manually: 
> plot "data1.dat" "data2.dat"
then it works perfectly.

The problem is that this OPEN button is not at all meant to be used for 
inputting the names of data files.  It generates a complete command line:

	load "foo.plt"

You should be using the Plot->"Data filename..." menu entry instead (and 
don't to forget you'll have to type a ',' manually in between).

No, you're not, since there is no such thing as a "student version" of 
gnuplot.  This is free software, not crippleware or hook-em-early 
"student" software.
