Dear Sir,

 	I am using

         G N U P L O T
         Version 4.0 patchlevel 0
         last modified Thu Apr 15 14:44:22 CEST 2004
         System: Linux 2.6.12-1.1372_FC3

my problem is as follows

if I use

>gnuplot


gnuplot>plot sin(x)

then I am getting the plot and I can see the
co-ordinates in the plot by clicking the middle
mouse button.

But if I use

> cat | gnuplot
plot sin(x)

then it is plotting but I can not see the
co-ordinates in the plot by clicking the middle
mouse button. i.e. the plot does not work interactively.

Please expalin this , I want to plot my data by passing it to gnuplot
by opening the pipe. I am getting the plot but I can not
change the scale of the plot by mouse click but it works without
pipe.

Dear Gnuplot Team

With Gnuplot 3.7 patchlevel 3 and the command shell (!) , it was=20
possible on Windows (... NT4,XP) to launch and run a DOS program=20
independently of the gnuplot functionning. It is not the case with=20
Gnuplot version 4.0. The pipe system with this new version is nice and=20
interesting but I have also lost something because I have included the=20
launching of my numerous DOS applications in the TxtMenu. For a small=20
example, with the last version it was possible to launch gnuplot from=20
gnuplot in order to keep the hand in the both. Now, it is not the case.=20
So it will be good to have the both command 'shell with pipe or not'.

In an other hand, I am using frequently the TxtMenu to include the=20
lauching of my applications. So I generate several TxtMenu files but I=20
need alors to put them in differents directories with a copy of gnuplot=20
exe. If it will be possible to launch Gnuplot and the TxtMenu with an=20
other name of the later (for example gnuplot_2.mnu), it would be nice.=20
This would ask to put an option name of the Menu after the name of the=20
Gnuplot program. In the same way, to increase the memory height for the=20
Menu will be good.

Which version of that (we published about 3 for Windows itself, and one
for DOS that will run on Windows, too)?

And *how* is that not the case, i.e. what's actually different?

That sounds like you're using either wgnuplot.exe or wgnuplot_pipes.exe=20
--- but which one?  And did you try the other one?
