How to Survive the Recession in Recruitment During a recession the number of Candidates registering or responding to job adverts increases dramatically when unfortunately your resources and staff time cannot. On top of this Consultants should be spending more time cementing your relationships with Clients but there are not enough hours in the day. So what is the solution? Helping Recruitment Agencies through Tough Times... Being Ex-Recruiters who have worked through past recessions we know how tough these times can be and have been working hard to produce solutions. We are pleased to announce two new products to help you spend less time on Admin and more time speaking with your Clients. Auto Recruiter Auto Recruiter removes the time needed to respond to Candidate Applications and Advertising Responses. When an application is received Auto Recruiter will instantly create a candidate record by reading the CV, email the candidate a response and allow them to check and validate their Application Details online. Auto Recruiter will also shortlist the Candidate for their chosen job and let you know where there details are stored to view, all within seconds. This cuts out the time it takes for consultants to fill in databases or respond to hundreds of emails completely. We understand that you need to keep costs at a minimum, so Auto Recruiter is extremely cost affective and can process hundreds CV's in the time it takes for a Consultant to make a cup of coffee. Recruitment Portal Recruitment Portal turns your Website into a Job Board! Recruitment Portal instantly shows all of your vacancies online and allows candidate to register and update their details online at any time. These candidate will be automatically added to your database or emailed to you. Recruitment Portals are also optimised for Search Engines, so when the thousands of people who search for Jobs every month, your Jobs will be in the Search Results. Recruitment Portal emails Candidates when you have jobs that match their criteria and lets them send suitable jobs to friends, extending your market dramatically. To find out more about our solutions go to MyRecruitment.net, where we offer a free trial of the MyRecruitment system. When I run the commands below, I get different colors in the output depending upon whether I'm viewing the screen or whether I'm reading from file "identify_good_files_rev1.png". The first file is a screen shot, showing yellow. The second file is the png that I created by using the gnuplot commands shown below. it doesn't happen for a fixed yrange.
so it must have something to do with autoscaling.
oh, 'gen_tics' in 'axis.c' tries to step from 0.499999999 to 0.500000000
in steps of 5.0e-17, this shouldn't happen...
'axis_checked_extend_empty_range' in 'axis.c' should catch this, but
it doesn't because it tests for "dmax-dmin == 0.0", but with
dmin=4.99999999999999888978e-01 and dmax=5.00000000000000111022e-01
the difference is
dmax-dmin=2.22044604925031308085e-16
which is obviously not zero but looks pretty much like DBL_EPSILON.
this patch should fix it:
--- axis.c.orig 2008-07-19 15:25:54.000000000 +0200
+++ axis.c 2008-12-31 01:12:38.000000000 +0100

I'm trying plot 3D geographical data (latitude, longitude, altitude) and running into problems. Naturally, I'd like everything to be to scale, but set size ratio -1 only seems to affect the X and Y axes. I could get by this way, but the X and Y axes used by the aspect ratio calculation appear to be the display axes, not the data axes. So looking at a top view is scaled correctly in one orientation (display and data axes lined up) and backwards in another (display X aligned with data Y and vice versa) I've attached a self contained script that you can run to replicate the problem. I suppose that this is more of a feature request than a bug report, but either way it would be nice to get this added. Ryan |

Hey everybody!
I am using gnuplot with the epslatex interface. As I am german I, from
time to time, have to use data with a decimal COMMA "," instead of a
point ".". This means, that I have to use the command
set decimal locale
within gnuplot. Then I can use the data provided in my data files for
plotting.
Then I change my terminal to epslatex and my output to a file:
set terminal epslatex input
set output "someFile.tex"
When I now tried to input my graph in my tex document, I get strange
errors. I then realized that these errors have to do something with the
locale, i.e. with the decimal ",": when i open the "someFile.tex" I can
see the lines
\expandafter\def\csname LT8\endcsname{\color{black}}%
\fi
\fi
\setlength{\unitlength}{0,0500bp}%
\begin{picture}(7200,00,5040,00)%
\gplgaddtomacro\gplbacktext{%
\csname LTb\endcsname%
\put(1254,704){\makebox(0,0)[r]{\strut{}-2,5}}%
There is the setlength command prividing an argument "0,0500bp" which
should actually be "0.0500bp" and the begin{picture} which provides two
decimal numbers "7200,00,5040,00" which should actually be
"7200.00,5040.00"! Additionally sometimes in the eps-file written by
gnuplot there are sometimes commas which have to be replaced by points.
This is a problem which only occurs if I change the input decimal.
To solve this problem, I tried to set the output decimal
set decimal "."
but this doesn't change a thing. The only workaround I found was to
change my datafiles. But this unfortunately is not the way which I would
recommend. Especially if users (german) want to user windows they are
exporting their data e.g. from Excel to a textfile, Excel writes
decimal-"," instead of ".". Is there something I missed or does there
exist already a solution for that?
It would be very useful and I could spread gnuplot more if this
behaviour would be fixed. I really can't teach my gf (who is now
learning LaTeX and KOMA already) gnuplot AND manipulating eps ;)
Thanks for your great work, gnuplot provided already for some papers
wonderful graphs!
With the best regards, hear you soon and in the hope to help development
getting further,
Alex
