Part of the problem is a terminology mismatch. In gnuplot you don't
"convert" or "save" plots. You generate plot output from commands, and
it depends on the 'set terminal' state what kind of output format you
get, and on 'set output' where it'll go. Please look up these commands
in the help and it should all be clear.
